Speaker Bio: Mrs. Cristine Kosnik received her bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering from The Catholic University of America in 1995 and her master’s degree in Applied Bioengineering from Johns Hopkins University in 2001. Her initial career, beginning in 1993, was focused on the development and project management of automated cell culture systems for NASA Space Shuttle microgravity research through a collaboration between the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR), where she was initially based, NASA AMES Research Center, and the DOD Space Test Program. She participated in 18 STL/CCM experiments flown on the Shuttle and was the primary engineer/project manager when the hardware management was transferred from WRAIR to Tissue Genesis, to include a subsequent award for ISS technology development. At Tissue Genesis, Mrs. Kosnik began as a bioengineer, then developed an FDA-GMP-compliant and ISO 13485-certified quality management system for its medical device and clinical trial activities. As TG’s Director of Quality Assurance for over 8 years, she has supported global regulatory approvals for stem cell therapy hardware use in Korea, Ukraine, and The Bahamas, multiple approvals for FDA clinical trials, and foreign manufacturer registration in Japan. She is a lead auditor, and her product and regulatory experience includes cleanrooms, injection molding, aseptic fill, and compliance with multiple standards, to include ISO 11137 (sterilization), 11607 (sterile packaging), 10993 (biocompatibility), and 14971 (risk management).
